There was a report of a male subject that was attempting to break into an apartment. Officers responded to the scene and located the subject.  Officers cleared the scene with no arrest.

There was a report of two vehicles that were hit by debris from another vehicle on I20 near mile maker 369 eastbound. One vehicle had a flat tire and the other vehicle was reported not to be drivable. DPS responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

SFD was paged to the 300 block of Morgan Mill road for a smoke investigation. A caller reported smoke coming from this location. Units arriving on the scene reported that a subject was burning debris in the backyard. The fire was put out.

There was a report of a hit and accident. A caller reported that her car was hit during the night time hours. An officer responded.

A caller advised that she was out of town and a neighbor called her and reported that there were several bicycles in the front yard and the doors of the residence were open. Officers arrived on the scene and made entry to the house and reported that it was clear.

Fire units were dispatched to Holiday Inn Express at 121 Lockhart Street on Harbin drive for a reported fire alarm. Units on the scene reported nothing showing and later reported that this was a false alarm.

There was a report of a male subject that broke down a front door of a residence. Officers responded to the scene and located the subject nearby.  The suspect was transported to the Stephenville ER. No arrest was made.

There was a minor two-vehicle traffic accident on 108N of Huckabay. No injuries were reported. DPS responded to the scene.

There was a report of a possible structure fire on PR1219. The residents reported that they could smell smoke and the fire alarms were sounding. Erath and Selden Fire were paged to the scene. All occupants were reported to be out of the house. Upon arrival, some units were cleared of the scene and returned to quarters. This did not sound that bad.

There was a report of a residential burglary alarm. The alarm company did contact the homeowners and they were out of town. A deputy responded to the scene and reported that the scene was secure.

There was a report of a vehicle that struck a road sign. DPS responded to the scene.

There was a report of a county truck that was installing a road sign and struck an underground phone line. The phone line struck lead resulted in knocking out internet service to a local scanner page. The provider was able to locate the cut and repair it. Thanks, Celso for your help.

There was report smoke on SH108N about one mile out of Stephenville. The caller advised that the smoke was coming from behind a house. Erath Fire was paged to the scene. Units on the scene reported that a person was burning a contained fire in a backyard. Units returned to the station.

There was a report of a grass fire on CR194. This was reported to be a brush pile that had become out of control. Erath and Bluff Dale Fire were paged to the scene. This was near the Hood County line and Hood County responded as well.

There was a report of a traffic accident on CR148 near Bluff Dale. A vehicle left the roadway and the driver was reported to be banged up and bit his tongue. Erath and Bluff Dale Responders were dispatched to the scene.

There was a report of a male subject that was hollering at other people in a parking lot. Officers responded to the scene told the subject that he could be arrested if he kept running his mouth. Officer left the scene with no arrest.

SPD performed a traffic stop near the City Park. A positive canine alert was detected on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle. No drugs were found but the subject was arrested for DWLI. A wrecker was called.

There was a report of a one-vehicle traffic accident on FM1188W at CR139. Units arriving on the scene reported one vehicle off the roadway with no road blockage. Morgan Mill units on the scene reported that the female occupant was out and walking around. Erath Med One did leave the scene with no transport.

There was a report of smoke in a bar ditch on FM8 near Lingleville. Lingleville Fire was paged to the scene to spray some water on it.

There was a report of a strong odor of gas on US281N about three miles south of Morgan Mill. Erath and Morgan Mill fire was paged to the scene. This was reported to be normal gas discharge from a pipeline in the area. A technician for the pipeline company was asked to come to the scene.

There was a report on a vehicle that was pulling a trailer with no tires on the rim and the wheels were sparking. The vehicle was in Comanche County and heading into Erath County on US377. I did not hear any more on this call.

There was a traffic accident in the 1400 block of West Washington. A vehicle had reportedly run into the sign at McDonalds Restaurant. EMS was paged to the scene for the driver who was reportedly unconscious. Units arriving on the scene reported that the roadway was not blocked. There was a fluid trail leading to the accident scene an Officer did track it and reported that the vehicle did strike several curbs before it stuck the sign. The patient was transported to Stephenville ER.

SPD was paged to Mi Familia Restaurant at 2029 W Washington Street for a report of a male subject that had broken out a window in the restaurant. The subject has reportedly left the scene prior to Officers arrival. The subject was located nearby and had a laceration to his hand. This turned out to be a domestic altercation the subject was arrested for Class C threat.

There was a report of a male subject near the City Park Bridge on the South Loop that was bear footed and was walking out into traffic. Officers responded to the scene and located the subject. I did not hear any more on this call.

There was a report of a one-vehicle traffic accident two miles south of Morgan Mill. A vehicle attempted to miss a deer and struck a tree. The caller reported that his head was bleeding. EMS was paged to the scene. Units arriving on the scene reported the vehicle was off the roadway. A wrecker was called. I did not hear of any transport.

Erath, Selden and Harbin Fire were paged to CR247 off of US281S for a reported grass fire. Fire Units could not find this fire and returned to the station.

There was a report of a traffic accident on eastbound Interstate 20 near mile marker 367. Erath and Huckabay Fire were paged to the scene. This was reported to be a two-vehicle traffic accident with one of the vehicles fleeing the scene. The other vehicle was reported to have been rolled over. The fleeing vehicle was later reported to have stopped near the scene. Units on the scene advised that EMS en route could stand down. There were two occupants who did not need to be transported.

(Deceased Person) SPD was paged to the parking lot at Wal-Mart at 2765 West Washington for a minor traffic accident. The report was that an elderly male subject was unconscious in a vehicle. SPD responded to the scene and asked for EMS to respond to the scene. The male subject was reported to be deceased and the Justice of the Peace was called to the scene.  EMS Left the scene with no transport. A wrecker was called for the vehicle.

DPS performed a traffic stop on Graham Street. The driver was arrested for DWI and the passenger was arrested for public intoxication.

SDP was paged to a location in the city for a report of a residence that was broken into. A male subject was reportedly inside the house and was looking for someone. The caller asked for the subject to leave but he refused. The front door was reportedly kicked in. The subject was arrested for criminal trespass and for having a controlled substance.

SFD was paged to North Columbia Street for a report of smoke in a residence. Fire Units on the scene reported nothing showing. Command on the scene reported that they killed the power at the residence and Oncor was asked to respond. Fire Units cleared the scene.

Fire units are on the scene. They will be out investigating. 

3:21 PM

Firemen will be shutting power off to the apartment. They will be using a reciprocating saw.

3:27 PM

Some units have cleared the scene.

3:30 PM

All units have cleared the scene. Apartment maintenance is on the scene.

Smoke Investigation

9:16 AM Stephenville

(Smoke Investigation) SFD Fire has been paged to the 2300 block of  West Wisteria Street for a report of smoke in a residence.

9:22 AM

Units on the scene report a two-story building with nothing showing. They will be out investigating.

9:42 AM

Unit on the scene reports that a contractor was performing a smoke test on the sewer system. All Fire Units have cleared the scene.
