Report of a fire alarm at the Edge Apartments at 1136 West Washington. There is a report of a pull station that has been activated. SFD is en route.

6:24 PM
SPD on the scene reports that workers on the site have been installing alarms today and there is no fire. SFD has been canceled.

SFD has been paged to the 1600 block of Groesbeck Street for a report of a subject burning tree branches near a house.

2:51 PM
Fire Units are on the scene investigation.

The unit on the scene reports that this will be a resident burning wood. The Subject has been informed to put it out.

There was a report of unauthorized use of a vehicle. SPD located the vehicle at the City Park with the driver. The grandparents of the driver came to the scene to pick up the vehicle and driver.

SPD and EMS were paged to a location for a report of an assault that had occurred. A male subject was bleeding from the ears. The suspect had left the location. EMS did leave the scene with no transport. SPD did clear the scene with an offense report.

There was a report of a business that had been broken in too. An alarm company had called in that a broken glass detector had sounded. SPD on the scene checked out the building and reported that it was secure. The keyholder was notified.

SFD was paged to the intersection of West Washington and Christie Plaza. This pole was located in the Aldi parking lot. There was a transformer that was glowing and was throwing sparks on the ground. Westbound lanes of Washington Street were blocked for a while. Oncor was notified.

There was a report of a vehicle that was stuck in a creek. The caller advised that the occupants had trespassed on the property and that the caller had a gun and was going to hold the occupants until Deputies arrived.

SFD has been paged to All Around Laundry at 102 South Park Drive for a report of a dryer that is possibly on fire.

1:33 PM

Fire Unit on the scene reports light smoke showing and that the building is evacuated.

1:43 PM

Command reports that the fire is out. They will still be on the scene investigating.

These scanner calls occurred between 2:00 PM Tuesday and 2:00 AM Wednesday.

Fire units were dispatched to Holiday Inn Express at 121 Lockhart Street on Harbin drive for a reported fire alarm. Units on the scene reported nothing showing and later reported that this was a false alarm.

There was a report of a male subject that broke down a front door of a residence. Officers responded to the scene and located the subject nearby.  The suspect was transported to the Stephenville ER. No arrest was made.

There was a minor two-vehicle traffic accident on 108N of Huckabay. No injuries were reported. DPS responded to the scene.

There was a report of a possible structure fire on PR1219. The residents reported that they could smell smoke and the fire alarms were sounding. Erath and Selden Fire were paged to the scene. All occupants were reported to be out of the house. Upon arrival, some units were cleared of the scene and returned to quarters. This did not sound that bad.

There was a report of a residential burglary alarm. The alarm company did contact the homeowners and they were out of town. A deputy responded to the scene and reported that the scene was secure.

There was a report of a vehicle that struck a road sign. DPS responded to the scene.

There was a report of a county truck that was installing a road sign and struck an underground phone line. The phone line struck lead resulted in knocking out internet service to a local scanner page. The provider was able to locate the cut and repair it. Thanks, Celso for your help.




Heater has Exploded

SFD has been paged to 300 block of Davis Street for a report of a heater that has exploded in a residence. All occupants are reported to be out of the house.

8:30 PM

Fire Unit 331 on the scene reports nothing showing.

8:31 PM

Unit reports that this is just a small heater that has exploded. Incoming units have been disregarded.

8:36 PM

Fire Unit 331 has cleared the scene. No Fire.

(Fire Investigation) SFD has been paged to 970 North Belknap for a fire investigation. A caller has driven by this location and reported that they have seen a fire.

SFD Unit 331 is in the area.

Unit 331 on the scene reports that there was a planter that had melted on the front porch of a residence. There is no fire to report. Units are 10-8.
