Report of a traffic accident in front of Dollar General at 170 Morgan Mill Road. The initial report there is a fatality from this accident. First Responders are en route.

Units on the scene reported two vehicles involved with one patient still in the vehicle.

EMS on the scene has asked for air medical to respond to Clark Field.

EMS on the scene has asked for Air Evac 69 will be instructed to land at the scene right next to Dollar General.

Unit on the scene reports that Air Evac is on the ground.

Command on the scene reports that Air Evac has lifted and is en route to JPS Fort Worth. This was the passenger of one of the vehicles.

One subject on the scene has been arrested for DWI. This subject does have a prior DWI charge but no convictions.

EMS Unit 329 have left the scene with no transport.

5:37 PM

The Justice of the Peace has been called to the scene.

5:55 PM

Officers are en route to Stephenville ER with the subject arrested for DWI for a blood draw.

A funeral home has been called and two wreckers are en route.

7:12 PM

The funeral home and JP have cleared the scene. Officers report that the roadway is open.

Fatality Vehicle Accident Investigation
01/20/2019

The Stephenville Police Department is investigating a fatality vehicle accident that occurred this afternoon at approximately 3:55 P.M. in the 100 Block of Morgan Mill Road. One vehicle was a Black 2013 Dodge pickup driven by Justin Schrader and occupied by another male. The second vehicle was a Red 2004 Dodge Neon with two occupants. Justin Brian Schrader, W/M 24 was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. A male passenger was released at the scene. A 38-year-old male passenger of the Dodge Neon was transported to JPS Hospital by helicopter, the 40-year-old female driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Judge Greenway. The cause of the accident is still under investigation and the names of the injured and deceased are being held pending family notifications.

EMS and SPD are on the scene at Jack in the Box at 2801 West Wahington for a male subject who was passed out in near the scene. EMS on the scene has just asked for air medical to respond to Clark Field.

10:39 PM

Air Evac 69 has accepted the call. ETA is 20 minutes.

A family member of the subject has been notified and is en route to the scene to pick up a vehicle which has a dog inside.

EMS Unit 330 is en route to the airport.

EMS is on the scene at Clark Field. The helo is landing at this time.

EMS is on the scene of a medical emergency on FM2481. They have asked for air medical to respond to the scene. Erath and Bluff Dale Fire have been paged to the scene to set up a landing zone.

11:10 AM

Air Evac 69 out of Granbury has accepted the call. ETA is 12 minutes. Erath Unit 803 is on the scene.

Air Evac 69 reports that they are six minutes out. Erath Medic 3 is on the scene.

11:19 AM

Unit near the scene reports to Air Evac that units have no radio or cell phone communications at this time.

11:22 AM

Erath Unit can now communicate with Air Evac 69. The helo is orbiting overhead at this time. The landing zone with be a nearby coastal field.

Erath Unit 810 reports that Air Evac is on the ground.

There was a report of a hit and run at Gilbert Intermediate School. A vehicle backed into a school bus and left the scene. SPD responded to the scene and reported that there were not any injuries and the damage was very minor.

There was a report of a physical disturbance at Burger King at 3011 West Washington. A caller reported that a male subject was assaulting a female. The female was reported to be throwing items and has stabbed the male subject with a pocket knife. SPD responded to the scene. EMS was paged and asked to stage nearby until the scene was secure. The ambulance was asked to go next door to Captains D parking lot to check out the male subject and he was transported to Stephenville ER. The female subject was transported to the Police Department and then later to Erath County Jail. The charge was aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading on foot.

There was a report of a hit and run in parking lot. A vehicle took out a piece a wall on a building and left the scene.

There was a report of a one vehicle traffic accident on US281N at CR434. Airbags were reported to have deployed. Unit 800 on the scene reported one vehicle in the ditch with all occupants out of the vehicle. Unit 800 canceled all incoming units. Air Medical was placed on standby but later disregarded. Unit 850 reported that there was road sign damaged near the scene of the accident. EMS did leave the scene with no transport. A wrecker was called.

There was a report of a traffic accident in the 200 block of East South Loop. This was reported to be a single vehicle motorcycle accident. SPD and EMS were paged to the scene. Units on the scene reported that the rider did not have any injuries.

SFD was paged to Caporal Drive for a report of a transformer that was arcing. Firemen on the scene requested that the Emerson Electric building next door be evacuated. Oncor was notified and they advised that the firemen stay at least 35 foot away from the scene until they arrived. The pole on the scene was reported to be smoking from the ground. SFD reported that there was a very small grass fire associated with the call. The Railroad was notified and was requested not to let any trains come thru. There were reports of power outages in at the intersections of Washington and Lillian Streets and at Washington and Alexander road. These outages were thought to be associated with this call. The power was eventually shut off at the pole. Emerson Electric and the Railroad were notified that the scene was clear.

There was a report of a grass fire on FM205 just outside of the city limits. This fire was reported to be in the ditch next to the roadway. Units arriving on the scene reported that there were multiple grass fires next to the roadway.  SFD was paged to the scene but was later disregarded.

There was a traffic accident in the 1400 block of West Washington. A vehicle had reportedly run into the sign at McDonalds Restaurant. EMS was paged to the scene for the driver who was reportedly unconscious. Units arriving on the scene reported that the roadway was not blocked. There was a fluid trail leading to the accident scene an Officer did track it and reported that the vehicle did strike several curbs before it stuck the sign. The patient was transported to Stephenville ER.

SPD was paged to Mi Familia Restaurant at 2029 W Washington Street for a report of a male subject that had broken out a window in the restaurant. The subject has reportedly left the scene prior to Officers arrival. The subject was located nearby and had a laceration to his hand. This turned out to be a domestic altercation the subject was arrested for Class C threat.

There was a report of a male subject near the City Park Bridge on the South Loop that was bear footed and was walking out into traffic. Officers responded to the scene and located the subject. I did not hear any more on this call.

There was a report of a one-vehicle traffic accident two miles south of Morgan Mill. A vehicle attempted to miss a deer and struck a tree. The caller reported that his head was bleeding. EMS was paged to the scene. Units arriving on the scene reported the vehicle was off the roadway. A wrecker was called. I did not hear of any transport.

There was a report of a traffic accident on eastbound Interstate 20 near mile marker 367. Erath and Huckabay Fire were paged to the scene. This was reported to be a two-vehicle traffic accident with one of the vehicles fleeing the scene. The other vehicle was reported to have been rolled over. The fleeing vehicle was later reported to have stopped near the scene. Units on the scene advised that EMS en route could stand down. There were two occupants who did not need to be transported.
