Erath Update for Wednesday 12/02/2020

These scanner calls occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

County

There was a report of vandalism. A caller reported that their gate was broken and that someone had been on their property. A deputy responded to the location.

There was a report of a theft. A caller advised that he had his truck repossessed and that he was missing some tools and cash. The caller wanted to talk to a deputy.

There was a report of a disturbance. A subject was reported to have been threatening a work crew at a residence. The reporting person stated the subject was yelling and threatening to let his dog out on the workers. The subject was reported to be very aggressive. Later the caller reported that the subject had left the scene. A trooper stopped the vehicle with the subject on CR351. This is all I heard on this call.

Harbin and Dublin Fire were paged to Comanche County for mutual aid on a grass fire.

There was a report of a brush fire on CR419. A subject reported that he could see smoke from his home. Erath and Huckabay Fire were paged to the location.

Deputies checked out with a subject that was asleep in a vehicle on US377S between Stephenville and Dublin. The vehicle was reported to have been stolen out of Jones County. The female subject was arrested.

There was a report of a hit and run traffic accident in the 2200 block of West Washington Street. The caller advised that they were sideswiped by a pickup that had left the scene. Officers responded to the location and reported that there was not much damage to the caller’s vehicle.

There was a report of a residential fire alarm on Cottonwood Court. A smoke detector was sounding. This turned out to be a false alarm. Batteries were being changed in the smoke detector and it went off. Fire units returned to the station.

There was a report of a threat at Wal-Mart. A caller advised that a subject had threatened him. The subject had left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival.

There was a report of smoke in the area of the 900 block of Long Street. SFD was paged to the location for a smoke investigation. After checking out the area fire units reported that this was a cooking fire and cleared the scene.

There was a report of a vehicle that struck a couple of mailboxes on Bluebonnet Street. All occupants were reported to be out of the vehicle but the vehicle was not drivable. Officers on the scene reported that marijuana was found in the vehicle. One subject was arrested for POM under two ounces and a second subject was arrested for DWI and POM. A wrecker was called.
