Erath Update for Monday 10/05/2020

County

There was a report of a grass fire on Interstate 20 eastbound lane at mile markers 364 and 365. Erath and Huckabay Fire were paged to the scene.

A caller reported that a female subject came to their front door and stated that she had been beaten by her boyfriend and was able to get out of the vehicle they were traveling in. The reporting person had the female in their residence and a deputy responded to the location.

There was a report of a possible burglary of a habitation. A caller reported that their front gate had been broken into and that they did not want to go to their residence unless there was a deputy with them. A deputy responded.

There was a report of theft. A caller reported that a political sign was stolen from their front yard. The caller had a video and wanted to talk to an officer.

There was a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident in the 2300 block of West Washington near Pizza Hut. No injuries were reported and the roadway was blocked. A wrecker was called.

There was a report of a hit and run traffic accident at 2811 West Washington. A caller reported that a vehicle struck hers while she was in a business. Witnesses did get a license plate number.

There was a report of a subject that was attempting to run their vehicle into a building at the Plaza Gas Station at 2961 West Washington. An officer responded to the location and reported that there was a vehicle on top of one of the stop bars in front of the building. The driver has reportedly left the scene. A short time later the subject did contact dispatch and reported that he had wrecked his vehicle at that store and he was located next door at the Roadway Inn. EMS was paged to the scene to check out the subject that reportedly broke his feet. The subject was transported to Stephenville ER. The subject did a warrant out of Erath County for driving under the influence. A wrecker was called to impound the vehicle.

There was a report of criminal mischief. A caller reported that their vehicle was egged when driving on Harbin Drive. An officer responded to the location.

There was a report of a theft. A bicycle and three scooters were reported to have been missing. An officer responded to the location.

SFD was paged to the 200 block of Cheyanne Drive for a smoke investigation. A caller advised that there was a lot of smoke in the area. Units on the scene reported that they could not locate the source and checked 10-8.
