Erath Update for Wednesday 09/30/2020

These scanner recordings occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

County

Dispatch received a call of a possible gunshot victim at a location on US281S of Stephenville. The reporting person stated that a 36-year-old male subject was in a pasture behind a residence with a handgun and that the subject was upset. EMS was paged to the scene and asked to stage until the scene could be secured. Officers rushed to the location and reported that the subject was back in the house and that no one was injured. The subject was shooting had a 45 caliber Springfield. Officers and EMS cleared the scene and reported that no offense occurred.

There was a report of a vehicle vs a tree on US281N about one-half mile before FM2803. A trooper on the scene reported that the driver was out of the vehicle and was not injured. Erath and Morgan Mill Fire were paged to respond but were later disregarded. EMS did respond but did not transport.

A caller reported that their vehicle had slid off the roadway on US281S just near the SH108 split. The vehicle did not hit anything but the driver was stuck in the vehicle and could not get out. A deputy responded and requested a wrecker. The highway had to be shut down for a while to get the vehicle pulled out.

A caller reported that a male subject was banging on a door of her residence. Officers responded to the location and issued a criminal trespass warrant to the subject.

TPD took an assault by contact report at Honeywell Dorm.

There was a report of a minor traffic accident at the intersection of East Lingleville Road and Morgan Mill road. Two vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported. An officer responded.

There was a report of a student that walked off campus at Hook Elementary on Jones Street. Officer and school officials searched the area for a while. A caller reported that they had seen a child walking near Ranger College in the 1800 block of Lingleville Road. An officer responded to the location and reported that it was the child. The boy was transported back to the school.

There was a report of a minor traffic accident at the intersection of West Washington and Graham Street. Two vehicles were involved and no injuries.

There was a report of a disturbance. A caller reported that they could hear a female subject screaming nearby their residence. Officer responded to the location reported that this as going to be a male subject inside an apartment that was screaming while playing video games.

There was a report of a welfare concern. A caller advised that a friend did not feel safe at home. The friend was currently at Wal-Mart hiding in the bathroom from her parents. The female that was hiding wanted to speak to an officer about possibly leaving home. An officer contacted the female.

SFD was paged to the 1000 block of West Shirley for a report of heavy smoke in the area. Units on the scene reported that this was a small recreational fire in a backyard. The fire was extinguished.

There was a report of a fight in progress at the Rockin P Bar on the square. Officers responded to the location and reported that a subject had a severely broken arm and was being taken to Stephenville ER by private vehicle. An officer followed them to the ER. An officer reported that the patient did not want to press charges. An incident report was filed.
