Update for Sunday 09/20/2020

These scanner recordings occurred between Saturday and Sunday morning.

There was a report of an assault. A caller advised that a subject attacked him with a wheelbarrow. The caller advised that he could not say who it was or the subject would attack him again. A deputy responded to the location.

There was a report of a pickup truck nose down in a ditch on US377N and CR475. A caller reported that there were subjects out walking around the vehicle. Erath and Bluff Dale were paged to the scene.  Erath Medic 1 arriving on the scene reported one vehicle off the roadway and everyone was out of the vehicle. EMS did clear the scene with no transport. The unit advised that the vehicle blew out a tire.

There was a report of shots fired. A caller advised that there were several people next door that were shooting recklessly. Also, the called advised that found several dead hogs in his yard that had been shot earlier in the day. A deputy responded to the location and reported that the subjects had left the scene prior to their arrival.

There was a report of a minor traffic accident in the drive-thru at MacDonald’s # 2 on West Washington. An officer responded to the location.

There was a report of a powerline down at 520 South Devine Street and a tree was on fire at this location. SFD responded to the scene and reported that a tree limb had fallen on a service drop to a house and pulled the drop from the wall. Oncor was notified and asked to expedite due to the power line lying across the metal roof of the residence.

There was a report of a theft at Wal-Mart. Theft prevention reported that they had two females that did not want to go to the office to be detained. An officer responded to the general merchandise side of the building.

There was a report of a threat. A caller advised that a driver of a passing vehicle threaten them when the caller commented on the driver speeding. An officer responded.

There was a report of a subject walking on East Washington that was swaying into and out of traffic. The caller was concerned the subject might get hit. An officer located the male subject lying on the ground near the American Legion Hall on East Washington. The subject was arrested for public intoxication.

SFD was paged to a residence on College Farm Road for a report of a small fire in the kitchen.

SPD performed a traffic stop on Tarleton Street and arrested a male subject for possession of a controlled substance. A wrecker was called for the vehicle.

There was a report of a large party in progress at The Grove Apartments on Frey Street. A caller advised that they had seen subjects getting into vehicles carrying alcohol. Officers reported that there were over 200 people on the scene. Officers were able to break up the party.

SFD was paged to Saint Gobain at 2770 West Washington for a reported fire alarm. The security guard on duty reported a yellow flashing light at the pump house. Units cleared the scene with no fire reported. The alarm was reset.

SFD was paged to 866 West Washington in front of Central Elementary. There was a report of a power pole that was hit by a vehicle that had left the scene. Power lines were reported to have been down. SPD on the scene reported the pole was down on the westbound side and that there was a broken gas meter near the location that was leaking. Oncor and Atmos were both notified and asked to respond. The roadway was blocked for a period of time due to concerns that the pole might fall into traffic. There was a fluid trail that was leaving the scene and officers followed the trail and located the vehicle on North Lillian Street. A wrecker was called for the vehicle so that it could be impounded. Officers searched the area and were not able to locate the driver.
